untouchable material

April 16, 2008

Nothing matters to me anymore.
I know for sure this won’t last forever.
You can go on. Talk. Gossip.
Come up with all your crap.
Make up a story
& introduce me as the great villain.
Steal whatever you want from me.
You can’t possibly know
there are things you will never possess.
To begin with
I keep my freedom & my will
just for me.

You’ve conquered new territories
whereas you allowed yourself
to be conquered.

Now, I have your chest.
You provide me
with a hollow
           to hide
           to rest
           to forget
           to rock love
with a place
           that separates me
           from distress and misfortune.

I have the dance of your voice
and a shelter in you I find.

Possession that leads to completeness.

sintiendo la soledad

December 9, 2007

gusta estar
sola. sin embargo

esta nueva sensación
de soledad

muchos límites
se han ensanchado

giran con nostalgia
los recuerdos

tristeza, nostalgia, tristeza,

                               i want to leave
                all this

your judgements
                              your words
        reductio ad absurdum

i do not recognise
the safety you are supposedly offering

forget the booing
ignore the praise

who said i’m seeking approval?

             i’ll walk
i’ll go deaf
except for the sound of this new promise

dive for dreams
or a slogan may topple you
(trees are their roots
and wind is wind)

trust your heart
if the seas catch fire
(and live by love
though the stars walk backward)

honour the past
but welcome the future
(and dance your death
away at this wedding)

never mind a world
with its villains or heroes
(for gods like girls
and tomorrow and the earth)

~e. e. cummings

your heavy unbeliavable
skull, crowded with radiant
suns, a new planet, the people
submerged in you, a lost civilization
I can never excavate:

my hands trace the contours of a total
universe, its different
colours, flowers, its undiscovered
animals, violent or serene

its other air
its claws

its paradise rivers

~Margaret Atwood
